GSM Mobile Phone (438,000) Allocation (Ayeyarwadi Division)
During same year 1.5 million subscribers could be expanded to provide service.In the year 2014-15, 2 million subscribers
project is under process for the expansion of service especially for the rual area and the island area far from mainland.
Some expansions projects 2.5 million subscribers are also under process to provide service in the necessary area
including Mon State and Taninthayi Region. MECTEL is conducting to promote the better utilization of voice and data in
the CDMA mobile network.
In the first year of project, total of 438,000 GSM Lines by 126 Sites are planned and allocating in Ayeyarwadi Division according to Three Phase ( Phase (I) 50 Sites, Phase (II) 35 Sites, and Phase (III) 41 Sites).In 2011, as to participate and supply the Ministry of Post and Telecommunication in the mission of for the development of the telecommunication service of the nation, it started the GSM Mobile Phone (438,000) Project (Ayeyarwadi Division) and the name also changed to the current one.
